Several firsts: first time in France, first time attending a Django Reinhardt Jazz Festival, first time camping in a tent. Oh yeah, and meeting amazing, generous people and playing with fantastic musicians!!

A long flight isn't so bad when your seat mate is a fun gal like Jessie.
Maria met me at the airport and we had a lovely English breakfast, complete with baked beans. My friend Maria has tragically passed on since I last saw her. We miss you and love you.
We went to a dance club til the wee hours and on the wild bus ride home I proved my susceptibility to motion sickness. The next day my plans to busk on the streets of Kingston were thwarted by my stomach's fear to board another bus. Instead I took some self-portraits as I took in some fresh air at Simon and Maria's apartment.
But the day wasn't lost. My favorite British boyfriend, Colin, gave me a ring and we went out for tea and dinner. We caught up with Maria in time for dinner.

The next day, it was off to Whitstable, where I would spend the night and then take a ferry to France. Whoo, goin' fast!

Met up with my congenital -- I mean congenial -- host Nev, who gave me a tour of the beautiful coastal town of Whitstable.

Nev set me up with the most insane (I mean this in a good way!) accommodations. I stayed in a flat that belongs to fellow Samois traveler, Mac.
Mac's backyard -- the rest of his flat was equally gorgeous and tasteful. 5 of us had dinner on the water at The Continental, where I made some fascinating sugar cube art (see below), and the next morning it was Mac, Penny, and me, off to Dover to take the ferry to Calais, France.
Okay, so I'll stick to music. :)
