The Swart cabin quartet getting ready to play. Outdoor concerts are nice and all, but they require a lot of clothespins!!
The final concert was held in the gazebo outside of the courthouse of Enterprise, OR.
Lisa Robertson with her students, both past and present.
Most folks were from the NorthWest, but we had Leonie from Germany, and 4 of us from Florida: Rebecca, Debbie, Karen, and Lee.
After the concert there was a small gathering at the Browder/McAlister house (should I say shack?). The shower was outdoors, and the floors were more rolling than the Oregon terrain, but, frankly, it was paradise, with their fantastic food, friendly warmth, and beautiful backyard.
"It's not the music, it's the meat" ... that I come to Oregon for. What I mean by that (ahem!) is that last summer I tried venison, and this summer I had an elk-burger. This is the inside of Don and Ann's summer place. Leave your carpentry level at home. The photo at the top left of this page is their side entrance.
It doesn't get more feng shui than this.
They had a raffle, where the only rule was that the winner had to take home the prize. ...hmmmm.... Well, Ed the cellist and I were the only contestants, and I won (Ed had already gone home anyway). Turns out the prize was their cat, Pharoah. I had to decline, so instead I got an accordion cd.
Ann Browder and Don McAlister are just cool, there's nothing more to say.
Jo Ann on her autoharp. Take us out, Jo Ann!
The End :)
