Rebecca Zapen Quartet features the brilliant guitar playing of LaRue Nickelson, the solid groove of Joe Porter on double bass, the tasteful drumming of Ian Goodman, and the sultry vocals and violin of Rebecca Zapen. The group has performed in Tampa Bay and Central Florida for concerts, private events, and in nightclubs. Past venues, events, and clients include: Jazz Club of Sarasota, Get Jazzed St. Petersburg (event for Mayor Foster at Mahaffey Theatre), Gulfport Casino, and Johnson & Johnson. Based in Tampa Bay, the group is happy to travel to your event.

The Rebecca Zapen / Gary Starling Group is a jazz oriented group that projects a sophisticated ambiance. Their music is rooted in the standards of Gershwin, Cole Porter,
Jerome Kern, et al, latin forms like bossa nova and samba, and rearranging
pop tunes in their own way, as well as interpreting Zapen's original compositions. ZapStar has been performing on a regular basis in venues running the gamut from nightclubs, festivals and concerts, to hotels, restaurants and private clubs.
